What is my PIN? 
Every library user will start out with a PIN of OCLN. You must type this PIN whenever you place a hold or access your account information.

We encourage you to change your PIN to a password only known to you. To do this, click on My Account and then click on User PIN Change.

Why am I asked for a User ID when I try to search the catalog?

The catalog allows you to log in for extra benefits before you search. Your User ID is the barcode on your library card and you PIN is OCLN, until you decide to change it to a new password.

By logging in, you will be able to access account information and place holds without re-typing your user i.d. for each task. The system will also keep track of your favorite authors and subjects, based on the items you check out.

If you do not have a library card or just want to do a quick search without logging in, click on Search the OCLN Catalog  to search the catalog anonymously.

How do I see holdings information for my library?
When you arrive at a list of search results, click on Full Details to see the full record for your item of choice. At the bottom of the purple box, click on Display Copy & Location Information to see who owns the item and the location and call number of the item.

Note: Holdings information will only display for the libraries you searched. For example, if you limited your search to items owned by Brockton - All Locations, you will only see holdings information for Brockton's libraries. Expand your search to all locations to see a more comprehensive listing.

How do I choose a pickup location for my hold?
When you place a hold, you will see a box similar to the one below:

If you do not wish to pick up the item at the Main Library, click on the dropdown arrow next to "Brockton Public Library" to select the library where you would like to pick up the item. Do not choose zOCLN as your pickup library.

How do I limit my search to DVDs, CDs, etc.?
Using the "words or phrases" search, include one of the following search terms in your query. If you use other search terms in your query, be sure to use the word and in between the words.
