Author Talk-Bob Ainsworth2023-10-04T15:00:00 HAS ANYONE SEEN $500 MILLION IN ART LYING AROUND BOSTON?
An hour or so after the 1990 St. Patrick’s Day ended, two men dressed as Boston cops entered the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum stayed for about 90 minutes, and left with 13 pieces of art. None of the priceless items have been found. Numerous suspects have been named over the years but none have been arrested. Many are now dead.
Retired corporate financial executive Bob Ainsworth, is the author of DUPED, a semi-fictional account of the unsolved 1990 art heist at Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. He will review the actual details of the theft, the suspects, and the trail of the paintings after the theft. He will also tell of his own and others' brush with the infamous crime.
This event will take place both in-person and on Zoom. Sign up for Zoom at the link to the right. A recording will be uploaded to our Youtube channel.

Planet Earth Family Fun Night2023-10-17T17:00:00Instead of looking solely to the stars, tonight our planetarium will use advanced digital tools and scientific data to tell stories that are uniquely Earth-focused. Living networks connect and support life forms large and small — from colonies of tiny microbes and populations of massive whales to ever-expanding human societies. In Habitat Earth, discover what it means to live in today's connected world. Through stunning visualizations of the natural world, dive below the ocean's surface to explore the dynamic relationships found in kelp forest ecosystems, travel beneath the forest floor to see how Earth's tallest trees rely on tiny fungi to survive, and journey to new heights to witness the intricate intersection between human and ecological networks. The show details the ways humans fit into this ever-evolving story of connection. Along the way, learn about what we can do to ensure our cohabitation with the natural world leaves a healthy, sustainable planet for generations to come.
